Grace Congregational Church of Harlem, UCC
“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and everyone that loveth is begotten of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth knoweth not God, for God, is love. ” (1 John4:7-8)
Mission Statement
It is our mission that the hurting, the depressed, the frustrated, and the confused can find love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness, guidance, and encouragement. A place where the radical message of Jesus Christ is demonstrated through our examples and interactions with one another.
Our Vision
It is our vision to welcome new members into the fellowship of our church family – loving, learning, and laughing, in harmony. While creating a learning environment where people develop and grow spiritually through Bible Studies, small groups, retreats, and affiliations with Seminaries. We want to equip every believer for significant work in ministry by helping them to discover the gifts and talents, God has placed within each of us!
The Covenant
It is our dream to reach out and build alliances with our brothers and sisters in different faiths. Our Covenant is simple: 1) Endeavor to Love people, 2) Endeavor to Save people and 3) Endeavor to develop leaders.
We encounter the living God through scripture and are transformed by the Holy Spirit as we read, study, teach, and obey His Word. At Grace, we are concerned about the spiritual health of the people and the community in which they live. We want the Community to prosper. We care about its people, ideas, and structures. At the same time, we are deeply invested in the lives of people. We desire for the love of God to proliferate throughout our church family and the community.
Grace Church is a community of faith, united in Jesus Christ, striving to follow his teachings as taught in the Holy Scriptures. Together, we seek to walk in the ways of God. We are united in the worship of God and express our care and love for the Grace Church Family and all humankind; together, we labor for the progress of knowledge the promotion of justice, and the reign of peace. Under the continual guidance of the Holy Spirit, we look with faith for the Triumph of righteousness in the world and life everlasting.
